The picturesque location in a stunning listed Georgian Mansion with its natural light and panoramic views creates a whole different feeling, not typically associated with a funeral.
Families have privacy – there is non of the conveyor belt feel so often associated with funerals. Our approach to the service is elegant, non funereal and discreet, ensuring that at the saddest of times, beautiful memories are created that families find so comforting.

Minimum seated attendance is 20, maximum 200 – we’ve held services here small and large, they are all beautiful
Typically families choose Pembroke Lodge as they don’t wish to go to a crematorium. So the cremation is booked as a direct cremation, family don’t follow.
However, if you wish to be at the crematorium, we arrange for a private farewell early the following morning. For burial funerals, we are flexible as to when you wish for the burial to take place – the same day or next day.
Pembroke Lodge is a fully licenced events venue, the room is hired for 4 hours. Their high standard in-house catering (starting from £12 per head) must be used.
There is ample parking and Richmond Station is a 10 minute taxi ride away.
Our personalised approach for a modern funeral service at Pembroke Lodge
- Service time is unrestricted – typically around 50 minutes – but there is no limit
- Typically we pre-place the coffin into the room before guests arrive – no formal procession or carrying in, instead, a private moment for family
- The coffin stands elegantly on trestles in front of windows overlooking the stunning terrace
- A playlist can play as guests gather which helps to create a warm and personal ambience
- You can be creative with photo boards, flowers – one family recreated their garden scene!
- There is a great space for musicians, singer or choir if desired
- Live-streaming or video can be arranged if needed
- The end of the service is typically managed discreetly so family have private time alone before the coffin is carried out- we talk this through with you.

Essential funeral fees are a coffin, transport and venue, whilst other costs are optional. The fee summary we send will show an itemized breakdown of costs in accordance with what you choose.

Venue fee 4 hours hire (your booking for venue hire is direct with Pembroke Lodge): £750
Crematorium Fee: £305 (if Direct Cremation) / £470 (attended pre 10am cremation)
Transporting the coffin (we typically use our Galaxy hearsette – other options available from £350): No Charge
Coffin: London oak veneer £395 / Simple Willow £595 / alternative choice of natural, solid wood, cardboard £345 – £1,050

Pembroke Lodge Service with Attended No Fuss Cremation: this is a typical average when combined with an attended No Fuss pre-10am cremation at Mortlake Crematorium the following day (coffin pre-placed in chapel), including our fee, venue hire and cremation fee, celebrant, Simple Willow coffin, pallbearers to carry coffin out, 40 copies of an 8 page order of service – but excluding catering and flowers – £5,305
* Our fee includes: Arranging the funeral, processes and legal forms, collection and looking after your relative at our private facilities, online funeral notice page to help inform family and friends of the funeral details, hand-holding you through the process, taking care of all the details, personal access to our team outside of office hours, our attendance on the day and use of our informal Galaxy hearsette vehicle as required.
Payment terms: This is a general price list. When we have chatted through with you what you would like, we send a personalised Fee Summary showing the breakdown of costs in accordance with what you choose. We require full payment by bank transfer 3 working days before the date of the funeral. If payment is being made through the deceased family member’s bank account or solicitor we appreciate this can sometimes take longer and we would need to see proof that the payment request has been submitted and is in progress.
