Supporting families beyond the funeral
At White Rose Modern Funerals, we have always believed that caring for a family doesn’t end when the funeral is over.
Whilst arranging a meaningful farewell is an important part of saying goodbye, we also know that grief continues long after the ceremony has finished. For many people, the days and weeks afterwards can feel surprisingly lonely, and knowing where to turn for support isn’t always easy.
That is why we are delighted to formally announce our partnership with space2grieve, an outstanding local bereavement charity supporting adults, children and young people across the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.
Although this partnership is new in name, it reflects a relationship that has already been growing for some time. We have referred many of the families we support to space2grieve and have seen the positive difference their compassionate, one-to-one support can make.
No one should have to face grief alone
Every person’s grief is unique. There is no timetable, no right way to grieve and no simple route through loss.
space2grieve understands this. Their experienced, highly trained bereavement support specialists offer free, confidential one-to-one support for anyone living in the Richmond borough who has been bereaved – no matter when the death occurred or how it happened.
Support is available by telephone, Zoom or in person, and no referral is needed. Anyone can contact the charity directly to discuss whether their support would be helpful.
Their approach is simple but incredibly valuable: providing a safe, understanding space where people can talk, be listened to and begin to find their own way forward.
A local charity making a real difference
Based at the ETNA Community Centre in East Twickenham, space2grieve is a truly local charity.
Their volunteers, trustees, managers and support team all live or work within the borough and are passionate about ensuring that nobody has to navigate bereavement without support.
The charity provides free support to people living throughout Richmond borough, including Barnes, East Sheen, Ham, Hampton, Hampton Hill, Hampton Wick, Kew, Mortlake, Richmond, St Margaret’s, Strawberry Hill, Teddington, Twickenham, Whitton and the surrounding areas.
Working together
As a local independent funeral director, we see every day that grief doesn’t stop when the funeral ends.
Through this partnership, White Rose Modern Funerals will continue referring families who may benefit from additional bereavement support, while also working alongside space2grieve to help raise awareness of the charity and support its fundraising efforts.
We hope that by talking more openly about grief, more people will discover the excellent support that is available locally when they need it most.
A shared belief
White Rose Modern Funerals and space2grieve share a simple belief: everyone deserves compassionate support through one of life’s most difficult experiences.
We’re proud to be working together to help ensure that people across Richmond borough know they don’t have to face bereavement on their own.
