JO NAPTHINE
Funeral Celebrant
Hello, my name is Jo. I am a fully qualified independent celebrant.
As your celebrant I will guide and support you to create a ceremony that celebrates and reflects the life of your loved one.
As with all our lives, the experience of loss and grief has significantly touched mine. This has shaped the world around me and has given me a deeper understanding of my work.
I am friendly and approachable, dependable and reliable. I am an empathetic listener and understand the weight of meeting you at your most fragile. I will look after you at this overwhelming time and will work alongside you, to support you and help you to honour your loved one’s life and their death.
I am a creative and intuitive celebrant; full of ideas about what is possible. Traditional or alternative I can help you create the ceremony you want and need it to be.
At the heart of my work, I believe that a funeral, whilst being a time of remembrance and grief, can also be a place for celebration and joy. I am often told I have turned a sad occasion into a beautiful and special day.
Music is a huge part of my life and funerals and music are inextricably linked. As a professional singer, I am often asked to sing at ceremonies. This is always an honour. Classical, folk or pop, I can transform your loved one’s favourite song into something deeply moving and entirely unique.
A little about me
Prior to becoming a celebrant, I worked as a singer and actress in the West End for over 20 years. Becoming a celebrant felt like a natural calling.
I am a mum of three wonderful boys. I love Earl Grey Tea, Marmite, Côtes du Rhône, Arsenal, Formula One and long family walks. (not necessarily in that order)
